The Neighborhood
The San Marco district is one of Venice’s smallest, yet it’s home to most of the city’s most famous landmarks. Life in San Marco revolves around St. Mark’s Square, where you can visit the Basilica and the Campanile. Another must-see is the Doge’s Palace, with its iconic Bridge of Sighs.
If you’re interested in exploring Venice’s major museums, the San Marco district also hosts one of the finest, the Correr Museum. While the area is filled with popular attractions, its true charm lies in the narrow streets, where you can wander and be enchanted by the calm waters of the lagoon’s canals.
