Stay in the Heart of Venice at Ca’ Terrazza di Marco Polo
Ca’ Terrazza is a beautiful and cozy apartment at five hundred meters from St. Mark’s Sqaure. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, independent heating and Wi-Fi connection. In the large living room with exposed beams and antique furniture you will find a comfortable sofa, satellite television and an excellent supply of dishes and glasses. The French window leads to the delightful terrace, ideal for a romantic dinner or a lunch with friends. The kitchen is spacious and equipped with all appliances: induction hob, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine, blender, toaster, kettle and coffee machine, as well as pots and accessories to prepare your favorite dishes. Each of the bedrooms has two windows overlooking the silent Borgoloco San Lorenzo, in the center but sheltered from the crowds of tourists. The double room is equipped with a “king size” double bed which can also be divided into two singles; from there you can relax watching television, leaning against the end of the nineteenth century newspapers. The single bedroom is embraced by a beautiful wooden paneling, which makes it very welcoming. In the bathroom, entirely covered with stone, you will finally find a huge shower with rain from the ceiling, where you can cool off after a day walking around the city. Access to the apartment is autonomous and there is no need for keys because you will be given a code for opening the doors.
Ca ‘Terrazza di Marco Polo is located in the heart of the Castello district, where some of the main attractions of Venice are located, such as the Art Biennale, the Arsenale and the Basilica of Santi Giovanni e Paolo. The house is in a strategic point for visiting the city, just a five minute walk from Piazza San Marco and the Doge’s Palace and 700 meters from the Rialto Bridge; it is also very close to the “San Zaccaria” vaporetto stop, the hospital and the police headquarters. In particular, the apartment is located on the corner of one of the most beautiful canals in Venice – the Rio dei Greci – which flows directly into the Riva degli Schiavoni. Not surprisingly, the bridge that can be glimpsed from the terrace was chosen as a set by famous directors such as Claude Lelouch or the Oscar winner Paolo Sorrentino, who shot some scenes of his masterpiece “Youth” (2015) with Michael Caine. A final curiosity: Borgoloco San Lorenzo takes its name from the imposing church overlooking the canal beyond, now an exhibition space; after traveling all his life to discover a world unknown at the time, in 1324 the great explorer Marco Polo wanted to be buried in this corner of his Venice.
