The Neighborhood
San Marco is one of the smallest districts in Venice, but it’s home to most of the city’s renowned landmarks. Life in the San Marco district revolves around St. Mark’s Square, where you can visit the Basilica and Campanile. Another must-see is the Doge’s Palace, with its famous Bridge of Sighs.
If you’re interested in exploring Venice’s most prominent museums, the San Marco district hosts one of the finest, the Correr Museum. While the area is rich in popular tourist spots, its true charm lies in the narrow streets, where you can stroll and be enchanted by the peaceful waters of the lagoon’s canals.
